Meet Red!
Dr. Tamara Hockley, aka “Red”, brings a multifaceted background and a wealth of experience to her practice. Raised in a dairy farm family, she developed a deep-rooted passion for animal care from a young age. Red’s entrepreneurial spirit was cultivated early on, having owned a successful franchise business before pursuing her veterinary career.
Her journey into veterinary medicine was shaped by invaluable experiences, including learning from esteemed mentors such as Dr. Dennis Rach and Dr. Gord Atkins. After graduating with distinction as a registered animal health technician, she specialized in equine veterinary technology before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with top honors.
Red’s dedication to her craft led her to pursue a rigorous medical/surgical internship at a premier equine practice in British Columbia. Her infectious smile, positive attitude, and commitment to exceptional service have earned her the trust and admiration of clients eagerly awaiting her return to patient care.
Driven by a genuine desire to improve the health and welfare of her patients, Red is not only a skilled practitioner but also a passionate educator and community advocate. She aspires to be a role model and leader for the next generation of veterinary professionals, setting DVS apart with her unwavering commitment to care and service excellence.
